Morning Routine

Wake-Up and Personal Hygiene 6:30 AM

  • At 6:30 AM, a bell is rung to wake up the inmates
  • The warden ensures everyone is awake
  • Inmates are encouraged to perform self-care activities, with staff assistance if needed
  • New patients are allowed additional rest time, as many of them have experienced sleepless nights before admission

Yoga and Meditation Morning Session

  • Patients are guided by the Sister-in-Charge, warden, or an available nurse to participate in:
    • 10 minutes of walking
    • Short meditation sessions for mental calmness

Bathing and Grooming Morning Care

  • All patients are required to take a shower every morning
  • Assistance is provided for those who are unable to manage on their own

Breakfast and Medication Nutrition & Health

  • After bathing, the main gate is closed to ensure safety while taking inmates for breakfast
  • Morning medications are administered according to the psychiatrist's prescription

Daily Activities and Therapy

Chores and Responsibilities 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM

  • Inmates are assigned light household duties, such as:
    • Sweeping and mopping the areas where they sleep
    • Cleaning the surroundings they use daily
  • These duties are carried out under the guidance of the Sister-in-Charge and the warden

Classes and Therapies 10:30 AM onwards

  • Based on mental stability and interest, inmates may attend:
    • Health education classes
    • Tailoring training
  • Therapeutic activities include:
    Group therapy
    Music therapy
    Reading sessions
    Handicrafts
    Drawing
    Dance therapy
    Singing therapy
    Counselling
    Story telling
    Cognitive therapy
    Indoor games
    Outdoor games
    Spiritual therapy
    Motivational classes

Afternoon Routine

Lunch and Rest 1:00 PM

  • Lunch is served at 1:00 PM
  • Some inmates receive their afternoon medication afterward
  • A rest period (nap time) is provided for about one hour

Laundry and Tea Break Afternoon

  • After the nap, a bell is rung to remind them to collect and neatly arrange their clothes
  • A tea break follows

Evening Activities

Evening Activities Until 5:30 PM

  • Patients are engaged in garden work/games until around 5:30 PM
  • Afterward, there is time for relaxation and social interaction
  • At 6:00 PM, the evening prayer is conducted by the sisters

Night Routine

  • After prayer, supper is served
  • Inmates are allowed to watch television for some time
  • Night medications are administered
  • The Sister-in-Charge interacts with the patients, discusses their day, and addresses any issues
  • Bedtime is at 9:00 PM
